To ring in the Lunar New Year, brands are celebrating with capsule collections paying homage to the Year of the Dragon.
Various labels are starting 2024 with an emphasis on fortune and inner strength, thanks to exclusive Year of the Dragon collections. The Chinese tradition is being highlighted with the infamous holiday hues of red and black across sneakers, clothing and jewelry from an array of brands — including Koio, Fendi, Ralph Lauren and more. Below, discover the limited-edition Year of the Dragon collections releasing for 2024.
MCM and Bape’s high-shine Year of the Dragon capsule
MCM has joined forces with streetwear brand Bape on an edgy new capsule collection, reimagining with brands’ signature pieces for the Lunar New Year. Inspired by the Year of the Dragon, the line — which can be found at both MCM and Bape’s websites — features Bape’s Shark hoodie and a range of MCM bags — including a crossbody bag, backpack, pouch and belt bag, plus its signature Boston, Weekender and North-South tote styles — in cognac and black colorways printed with MCM’s Visetos monograms. Bape’s Shark mascots, as well as shiny gold iterations of the Bape Sta logo topped by a swirling dragon, round out the range with a dynamic edge.
Bottega Veneta’s vibrant Year of the Dragon collection
To celebrate the Lunar New Year, Bottega Veneta has issued a colorful Year of the Dragon collection packed with bold footwear. The Italian label’s new line features an array of its signature Orbit mesh sneakers in hues of red, yellow and purple, as well as its lace-up Adam sandals in both flat and heeled silhouettes — complete with gold metal dragon hardware. The line is complemented with golden metal and enamel dragon-scale jewelry, as well as a variety of colorful and neutral woven leather Andiamo, Sardine and Jodie handbags; all can be seen in the brand’s accompanying Jess Jing Sou-directed campaign, “The First Sunrise with You,” starring brand ambassador Shu Qi.

Kate Spade New York’s glitzy dragon capsule
Kate Spade New York has embraced the Year of the Dragon with its latest Lunar New Year capsule collection. The New York-based womenswear brand’s new line, which retails from $68-$428, features a black tote bag and navy blue sweater accented with sparkling gold and pink dragons — as well as a whimsical bag charm shaped like the zodiac sign. Rounding out the range are golden dragon stud earrings, hoop earrings, a ring and pendant necklace, all accented with pearls for a chic finish.
Koio’s Year of The Dragon Capri sneakers
For its fourth annual Lunar New Year drop, sustainable footwear brand Koio has launched a Year of The Dragon-themed version of its popular Capri sneaker. The low-top, round-toed unisex style — which retails for $328 on the brand’s website — features a white leather base, complete with a playful custom golden dragon illustration by artist Dahan Chung. The pair is complete with flat soles and deep red counters for a relaxed finish.
Coach’s Lunar New Year accessories capsule
Coach has released a new capsule collection for the Year of the Dragon. Designed by creative director Stuart Vevers, the line — which retails from $125 to $895 — features a cotton T-shirt, hoodie and bucket hat printed with multicolored dragon illustrations designed by artist Lian Yang. Completing the range is a pale tan leather version of the brand’s hit Rogue 25 handbag, featuring Yang’s dragon print and gleaming brass hardware.
Ralph Lauren’s sharp red and black Year of the Dragon capsule
Ralph Lauren has embraced the Year of the Dragon within a new Lunar New Year collection for men, women and children. Ranging from $40 to $1,490, the lineup includes knitwear, polos, hoodies, shirts, dresses, jackets and hats in hues of red, black and dark blue — all accented with gold and red dragon embroidery. A notable standout is the brand’s beloved Polo Bear knitwear, which features its cozy mascot outfitted in a red smoking jacket and slippers with dragon accents to festively begin the year.
Fendi’s playful capsule with Pokémon and Fragment
Fendi has teamed up with both Pokémon and Fragment on a co-branded capsule collection, which will be released just in time for the Lunar New Year. In a whimsical take on the Year of the Dragon, the luxury brand has tapped “Pokémon” characters Dragonite, Dragonair and Dratini across graphic yellow and blue patches and embroidery. All are placed on “FF”-monogrammed handbags, leather goods and jewelry — including the label’s beloved Baguette and Peekaboo ISeeU styles — to commemorate the occasion.
Jane Win’s Year of the Dragon coin pendant
Jewelry designer Jane Win has grown her brand’s charm lineup with a Year of the Dragon pendant, inspired by fortune and inner strength. The 14k gold piece, ranging from $298 to $348 depending on its chain, will feature a double-sided silhouette inscribed with a dragon and “Et Surgo” — translating to “I Rise.” The piece is the latest coin pendant within Win’s namesake line, which is favored by stars including Jill Biden, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Hudson.
