Another New Year’s Eve is near and Ryan Seacrest will once again host the “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve” special on ABC. Ryan Seacrest and Rita Ora will be hosting the end-of-year celebration
It was announced on Thursday that for the first time, the global telecast — which drew over 13 million views last year — will also feature performances from big names like Megan Thee Stallion, Jelly Roll, Sabrina Carpenter and Tyla. Megan will be taking the Planet Fitness stage, while Jelly Roll will perform a medley of his hit songs live from Times Square joined by singer-songwriter Jessie Murph.
Carpenter will be performing her most recent single “Feather” along with her Platinum hit “Nonsense” from her album “emails i can’t send.” Finally, Tyla will be performing her hit songs “Water” and “Truth or Dare” from her forthcoming self-titled debut LP.
Also joining in on the festive fun, South Korea featuring K-pop group NewJeans will also be performing during the special. The girl group will perform their songs “Super Shy” and “ETA.” The musical lineup will also include performances by Post Malone, who will hit the stage at the new Fontainebleau Hotel in Las Vegas, and reggaeton star Ivy Queen, who will do her thing from her native Puerto Rico.
This year marks the 52nd year of the popular special and Ryan Seacrest’s 19th time hosting. With help from singer Rita Ora, Seacrest will lead the countdown from Times Square in New York City, while TV personality Jeannie Mai will host the festivities in Hollywood, Calif.
The West Coast celebrations will feature performances by Ellie Goulding, Green Day, Janelle Monáe, Ludacris, Jared Leto’s Thirty Seconds to Mars and more. Additionally, ’90s group Aqua will be singing their 1997 classic, “Barbie Girl.” On the island of Puerto Rico, presenter Dayanara Torres will return to co-host.
“Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024” is set to broadcast live on ABC starting at 8:00 p.m. ET on Dec. 31.
