Anya Taylor-Joy went invisible when it came to her footwear on Thursday night. The actress attended the Australian premiere of her new film “Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga” wearing a pair of completely nude heels from Aquazzura which was in line with how her full look first appeared on the runway.
The press tour for the film has just started. To kick things off, the performer wore a pair of classic black pumps from Christian Louboutin to CinemaCon last month. That stiletto style was made of patent leather.
The Golden Globe-winner stars in “Furiosa” as the titular character. Co-star Chris Hemsworth also walked the red carpet in Sydney.
Taylor-Joy, who also made a brief appearance in this year’s blockbuster “Dune: Part Two,” opted for the Aquazzura So Nude Plexi 105 Sandal for the event. The shoe features a thin strap across the toe, as well as another slingback-style strap across the back of the ankle for security. Both are made of transparent PVC.
The sole of the style is leather and the toe features an almond shape. The Made in Italy footwear also features a silver stiletto heel of just over 4 inches. The selection nods to the original styling of Taylor-Joy’s full ensemble which included a PVC stiletto heel when it came down the Paco Rabanne runway in the spring 1996 couture show.
Taylor-Joy is one of a growing number of celebrities that applies method dressing techniques when appearing on red carpets to promote a film she is in. This means she and her stylist Ryan Hastings use themes from the project to inform her style. Last year, she wore a pair of hot pink boots to channel her character Princess Peach as she promoted “The Super Mario Bros. Movie.” When she’s not method dressing, she is often spotted in pumps and heeled sandals. In 2022, she notably wore a pair of 7-inch peep-toe pumps while in London.
