The Story Behind The Shoe: Frances Valentine’s Tufted Pump

For fall ’16, the Frances Valentine brand taps the fur trend via a tasteful ankle-strap pump with mink pom-pom. The suede Marybeth style, made in Italy, can transition from day to night with a powerful punch.

At the office, we recommend pairing the pump with black trousers and a crisp white shirt (let the shoe do the talking). For night, feel free to be more experimental with your look by styling it with a printed dress.

The style is one of many playful options to choose from in its latest collection. Other standouts in the fall collection include ponyhair slingback flats, tweed pumps and suede over-the-knee boots.

Kate Valentine, formerly Kate Spade, launched the Frances Valentine label for the spring ’16 season. She launched it alongside her husband, Andy Spade, and business partners Paola Venturi and Elyce Arons.

“I love all the details and character you can evoke with shoes. They are charming objects and the most rewarding to make,” Valentine told Footwear News.
