Miu Miu Previews Latest New Balance, Church’s Collabs on Spring ’24 Runway Along with Quirky Sandals

Following Chanel’s unexpected flip-flop debut earlier today, Miu Miu continued that same shoe idea on Tuesday – sending a cast of models down the runway in a new sandal style.
The silhouette, which evokes memories of the T-strap bohemian design that dominated the early 2010s, takes on playful updates with rope and crystal details. The sandals, which also have a slight outdoor influence seen through different hardware and knotting techniques, are secured on the foot with a Velcro strap with logo detail.
Miu Miu designer Miuccia Prada sent these new sandals down the runway today with a sense of humor – seemingly poking fun at the tired feet her models must have after a long fashion month by applying colorful Band-Aid inspired bandages on their heels and toes.

And while this sandal silhouette dominated the runway, Miu Miu did give a peek into its newest shoe collabs coming for spring 2024. First up is the Italian label’s latest sneaker with New Balance. For this season, the duo updated the footwear brand’s 530 sneaker model. The result is the Miu Miu x New Balance 530, which was seen walking down the runway in tonal sand and chocolate brown colorways.
The update features a chunkier-than-usual upper for the 530, which is paired with a lower profile bottom that’s typically used in the model. Frayed details, which have been a hallmark feature of the on-going collab, are also present – but much more paired down compared to prior seasons.
Miu Miu also showed its latest tie-up with fellow Prada Group brand Church’s. For this season, the duo chose Church’s Shanghai monk strap loafer style. The distressed dress shoe features wing-tip broguing details, a silver side buckle, fringe and a mixed media fabric and leather upper. The style is finished with an oversized leather tongue embossed with the Miu Miu logo.
And that’s not all. Other footwear moment’s on Miu Miu’s Paris runway included preppy boat shoes, Mary Jane’s with a slight heel and cap-toe pumps.
As for the collection overall, Miu Miu’s spring/summer 2024 season sees a plethora of architypes. From preppy influences to surfers and even geeks, the label showed something for everyone including swimwear, sportswear, eveningwear, kid-mohair tailoring, antique underwear, and elegant dresses in embroideries and brocades.
