Veja and Reformation have teamed up for a new collaboration. Out today is the Veja x Ref Venturi in two exclusive colorways.

The partnership is focused on sustainability, combining Veja’s bio-based materials with Reformation’s vintage-inspired style. The first colorway is seen in a cream colored J-Mesh, made of 33 percent jute with 67 percent recycled cotton. The J-Mesh has anti-static, thermoregulatory and breathable properties.

The second look is designed with a walnut-hued, technical fabric called Alveomesh, made from 100 percent recycled polyester. Both styles feature suede from farms in Rio Grande do Sul, which is tanned in Brazil without using any hazardous or prohibited chemicals.

In addition, the shoes lining and laces are made from recycled polyester. The outsole is comprised of 31 percent Amazonian rubber, with the Midsole made from 38 percent sugar cane.

Like all Reformation shoes, the Veja x Reformation sneakers are made in Brazil.

Last year, Reformation launched its first sustainable sneaker. Called the Harlow, the sneaker is designed for circularity in which the product is designed, manufactured, used, and handled to eliminate the concept of waste. The shoes are made in bovine leather that is tanned without chrome or heavy metals. Consumers are able to recycle the style via Reformation’s RefRecyling program, which breaks down recycled Reformation clothes and shoes back into fiber and are then turned into new products, with as few new materials as possible.

Veja, meanwhile, has been steadfast on minimizing waste and supporting the circular economy since launching in 2005.

The Veja x Ref collab retails for $215 and is available online this at veja-store.com and thereformation.com, as well as in select stores globally.
