Zoe Saldana Celebrates BAFTA Win in Saint Laurent Satin Slingback at Netflix After Party
Zoe Saldana continues to add to her trophy mantle. Fresh off of picking up a Critics Choice Award for her role in “Emilia Perez,” the actress has a matching title from BAFTA. Though she was flustered onstage while accepting the win — she did manage to dedicate it to her trans newphew Eli — she was the image of cool later that night.
For the Netflix after party, Saldana stuck with Saint Laurent. She wore a tuxedo jacket from the brand over a black slip dress. She accessorized with diamond studs and a necklace from De Beers.
For shoes, styled by Petra Flannery, she wore a pair of black Saint Laurent L’Entracte slingback shoes. The styles are made of a satin crepe. They feature a sharply pointed toe, as is the style of Saint Laurent. They also have a rounded vamp.
The stiletto heel is 4.5 inches and there’s an elasticated slingback strap.

Saldana has been wearing quite a bit of Saint Laurent on this tour but it is to be expected: Saint Laurent Productions and brand creative director Anthony Vaccarello are producers of “Emilia Perez.” In addition, Saldana is a face of Saint Laurent. And the label has been one of the most ardent proponents of slingback styles over the past year. This was noticeable at the 2024 Cannes International Film awards, where a number of “Emilia Perez” actors wore Saint Laurent slingbacks, but also throughout the year. That’s caused the style to trend. But Saldana likes options.
At the Critics Choice awards she chose an open-toe sandal from Saint Laurent called La Scandale. That platform style does have a slingback of sorts but offers an additional ankle strap which differs from what is typically considered a slingback. She had previously worn a black version of that heel at the Golden Globes. In addition, she recently chose Christian Louboutin shoes for a press appearance. While on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” she wore a pair of head-turning Belle and Jewels pumps from the brand which featured a gilded heel and bejeweled ankle embellishment.
