Zendaya and The Weeknd Launch Multi-City Pop-Up Shops

It’s going to be quite the Weeknd for shopping.

Singers-turned-designers Zendaya and The Weeknd are separately launching multi-city pop-up shops Friday through Sunday. The entertainers are not collaborating, rather these are individual ventures coinciding at the same time.

Zendaya will unveil her Daya by Zendaya apparel — with a surprise appearance to greet fans — at all three of the stops at her label’s temporary outposts in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles.

The shoe designer recently produced a fall ’16 collection that starts at $70 for slide sandals and tops out at $125 for mid-calf gladiators.

Meanwhile, Grammy award-winning R&B star The Weeknd will also share his love of fashion with pop-ups launching in five cities. The musician will present a capsule collection in partnership with Bravado, a merchandise company, at Opening Ceremony in Los Angeles and New York City, Alchemist in Miami, Complex Con in Long Beach, Calif., and Selfridges in London. More locations and dates will be announced later, according to his Instagram page.

In September, he was announced as Puma’s new global brand ambassador and creative collaborator. Part of his deal includes his own collection of sneakers and apparel due next year that the brand describes as “a fusion of Puma’s sport-inspired designs and The Weeknd’s street-motivated aesthetics as seen in his label, XO.”
