Yara Shahidi was on hand at the latest Gucci runway show on Tuesday. The actress sat front row, joining the likes of Julia Garner, Jessica Chastain, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Parker Posey, dev Patel and more.
For the show, Shahidi wore a tonal green jacket and trouser set.
On foot, Shahidi wore a pair of Gucci Horsebit slingback heels. The shoes include a silver Horsebit detail on the front. The Horsebit detail is a signature of the house which hails back to its history of working with horses.
The shoe is red which is a color that Sabato de Sarno emphasized during his tenure at the brand. He named it Rosso Ancora and was a deep, burgundy shade of red. De Sarno recently left the brand at the beginning of the month.
Shahidi’s shoe has been worn by numerous celebrities. In May, Dua Lipa wore the shoe in black to the company’s cruise 2025 show which was De Sarno’s third collection for the brand. At the same show, Daisy Edgar-Jones wore the shoe featuring the Gucci logo embossed all over them. Hers were red like Shahidi’s. As were the shoes that Lily Gladstone wore to the Cannes Film Festival in May 2024. She was attending a jury photocall at the event in a shirt dress and the red sliingbacks.
The heel of the shoe is almost six inches at 5.7 inches. Much of that is taken up in the chunky platform. The company is selling versions of it for $1,500.
Platform styles and slingback silhouettes were all the rage throughout 2024 and 2023. Both have continued to eek into 2024, though less prominently. Today at Gucci’s show, the brand showed a number of pointed-toe styles including a patent leather, glossy slingback with a deep, v-cut vamp.
