Venus Williams gave neutral tones a sporty makeover during New York Fashion Week, thanks to Lacoste.
On Saturday, the French fashion brand celebrated its 90th anniversary with a rooftop party at Nine Orchard in New York City. Williams — one of the numerous celebrity guests in attendance, alongside stars including Irina Shayk and Brandon Flynn — posed at the occasion in a set of sharp white pumps. The tennis champion’s smooth style featured triangular pointed toes with dark green base paneling, punctuated by thin heels and dark green counter prints of the label’s signature crocodile mascot.
The style added a stark contrast to Williams‘ Lacoste outfit for the occasion: a long-legged black jumpsuit, crafted with a stretchy open knit that mimicked the silhouette of mesh. Her sleeveless piece was finished with matte bodice and waistline paneling, as well as a white-trimmed collar in homage to Lacoste’s signature polo shirts.
When paired together, Williams’ single-piece outfit and shoes formed a modern take on styling neutral hues of white and black. Her pumps’ contrasting tone gave her outfit a bold flair, while the jumpsuit’s matching trim allowed the two pieces to actually complement each other for a streamlined finish.
The moment marked Williams’ latest outing during New York Fashion Week, following her appearance at Prabal Gurung’s spring 2024 fashion show.
NYFW is held in New York City in September, marking the start of Fashion Month. The spring 2024 season will see a calendar of fashion shows and presentations from a range of designers, including Ralph Lauren, Christian Siriano, Proenza Schouler and more. The occasion will also include numerous parties and activations from brands like Aldo, J.Crew, MCM and more.
