Variety’s Power of Women 2023 event was held at Mother Wolf on Thursday in Los Angeles. The annual occasion highlights notable women and their accomplishments in the music, film and fashion industries. The event saw the attendance of a variety of fashionably dressed stars, including the likes of Emily Blunt, Meghan Markle, Billie Eilish, Carey Mulligan, Addison Rae, Garcelle Beauvais, Dua Lipa, Margot Robbie, Jasmin Savoy Brown and Tia Mowry among others.
The “Houdini” songstress was outfitted in a complete Vivienne Westwood ensemble from head to toe. Accompanied by a bright red draped corsetted dress, Lipa was styled in a pair of striking Elevated ghillie platform heels.
Retailing for $943.94, the hitmaker’s designer footwear comprised black leather crocodile-embossed uppers accompanied by exaggerated thick platform soles, a sleek lace-up design and gold-tone embossing on the inner soles. Thick 4.8-inch block heels rounded out the set, providing the performer with sky-high boots in height.
Further accessorizing her look, the “One Kiss” singer wore gold linked chain earrings and toted a black leather crocodile-embossed Amber clutch, also from Vivienne Westwood. The clutch was fitted with silver hardware in the shape of Westwood’s famed orb motif. Lipa’s dyed red tresses were parted down the middle and styled in flattering face-framing waves.
During the ceremony, Lipa presented the Producer of the Year award to LuckyChap Entertainment, a production company founded in 2014 by Variety Power of Women 2023 honoree Margot Robbie. The production company is behind a multitude of films and TV series that celebrate women’s stories, including “Barbie,” “Promising Young Woman” and “Maid.”
The “Suits” star sported a pair of Dangerous Liaisons black pointed-toe pumps from Aquazzura for the star-studded event. Markle’s footwear comprised mixed glossy patent leather and suede uppers that transitioned into geometric cut-outs, sharp triangular pointed toes and arched leather soles. 4-inch stiletto finished off the neutral-toned set. The footwear retails for $895 and also comes in alternative “Pink” and “Burgundy” colorways.
The Dutchess’ designer pumps were paired with a Proenza Schouler maxi dress in a neutral tone and a black leather clutch from the womenswear brand. Rounding out her look, the royal wore small gold hoops and styled her dark tresses parted down the middle and slicked back into a stylish updo.
Styling neutrals, the “Barbie” star was outfitted in a floor-length Fendi gown that sat off-the-shoulder. A rectangular black and silver clutch and a variety of Ana Khouri jewelry accompanied the fitted brown gown. Although they were hard to see over the lengthy hem of her dress, Robbie appeared to be wearing sandal heels of some kind. Robbie’s blonde tresses were straightened and parted down the middle.
During the ceremony, Robbie received the Producer of the Year award, given to her by fellow nominee Dua Lipa, for her production company LuckyChap Entertainment. The production company is behind a multitude of films and TV series that celebrate women’s stories, including “Barbie,” “Promising Young Woman” and “Maid.”
The “A Quiet Place” star attended the annual event outfitted in a white Self-Portrait dress from the brand’s fall 2023 collection. The garment was form-fitted and crafted from a sequined fabric accompanied by white faux-feather trim on the sleeves.
Blunt flattered her feet in a pair of gilded Rosie Jimmy Choo sandal heels. The breezy footwear comprised high-shine uppers that transitioned into thick knotted straps that sat atop the thespian’s feet. Thin straps wrapped around Blunt’s ankles, threaded through buckle closures, securing the style in place. 3 to 4-inch stiletto heels finished off the dazzling set.
Blunt received the Power of Women Alumni award from premier partner Wells Fargo.
The “Lose To Win” singer went for gold during the 2023 Variety’s Power of Women event. Accompanied by a form-fitted gold Dolce & Gabbana gown, Barrino sported a pair of gold strappy sandal heels. The high-shine style was crafted out of gilded leather with a gleaming finish and comprised of thick, secure straps that sat across the tops of her toes and around her ankles.
The style also included buckle closures and rounded open toes, offering the silhouette a breezy effect. 3 to 4-inch thin stiletto heels finished off the set.
Accompanying her gilded dress and heels, the hitmaker sported a variety of coordinating gold jewelry. Barrino’s dark hair was short and quaffed, worn out of her face. Barrino was featured on the cover of Variety’s 2023 Power of Women issue along with stars like Lily Gladstone and Billie Eilish.
Eilish was outfitted in an all-black ensemble comprised of baggy menswear-inspired pieces. The “Ocean Eyes” songstress also styled a pair of Nike’s black and white cleat-inspired sneakers. The chunky footwear featured backward swoosh detailing in white on the uppers and thick platform-esque soles. Eilish’s footwear resembles Nike’s many collaborations with Cactus Plant Flea Market.
During the annual event, Eilish performed her hit song “What Was I Made For?” featured in the “Barbie” film held alongside her brother Finneas O’Connell. The hitmaker was one of many stars to grace Variety’s 2023 Power of Women issue, accompanying the likes of Lily Gladstone and Fantasia Barrino.
The “Yellowjackets” star attended the event in a preppy ensemble featuring a deep blue paisley-printed suit jacket-inspired dress. Brown sported a pair of black leather oxford-inspired Mary Janes, accompanied by Thom Browne teal striped knee socks.
The dressy pair, also from the American designer, comprised sleek black leather uppers accompanied by thin straps threaded through silver buckle closures and rounded toes. 2 to 3 inch block heels finished off the sophisticated set, offering Brown a conservative boost.
