When Vanessa Williams turned up at the 2024 Attitude Awards in London last night, she was a picture of dark glamour. The star wore a black embellished suit featuring sharp shoulders. But to punctuate the look, she stepped ito a pair of shoes she’s been returning to multiple times recently.
The shoes are from Prada. Made of silk and viscose they feature a thick, chunky platform. They also feature an equally thick block heel. In part as a result of the platform, the heel is 4.5 inches high but undoubtedly feels more manageable with a less dramatic pitch.
The sandal includes a peep toe upper. On the vamp, there is Prada’s typical metal triangle logo. The ankle strap sandal is available at Neiman Marcus for $1,250 in the colors “Nero” and “Avorio.”
Williams wore this shoe, replete with its adjustable ankle strap to the Attitude Awards, pumping up her height. But that wasn’t the first time. She had also wore the shoe on a recent visit to SiriusXM Studios.
While in new York City on September 18, Williams hit up the radio studio wearing a graphic print blazer and shinny straight leg trousers. Cut high on the ankle, the pants showed off her Prada platforms in all their glory. The former model’s feet were practically on full display, save the thick upper across her toes.
She also wore the sandals with another suiting look. During New York Fashion Week in February, Williams attended the Pamella Roland show. For it, she wore an embellished suit over a lacy-lingerie inspired top. For the shoes, she stuck with Prada.
It’s little wonder that Williams keeps resorting to this style. As a platform with a block heel, it is both tall as well as manageable to walk around in. The shoe provides more stability and traction than a single sole stiletto of the same height. She’s not the only one though: at Cannes Film Festival in May, Andie MacDowell wore the shoe in satin.
This is not the first slick platform sandal with a block heel that Miuccia Prada has made. Her version for Miu Miu have been worn by Paris Hilton and Brittany Mahomes.
