Tyra Banks celebrated the opening of her Smize & Dream pop-up ice cream shop in Washington, D.C., on July 19 wearing sunny yellow pumps.
The “America’s Next Top Model” judge is expanding her ice cream business, named for her iconic term smize, a portmanteau meaning to smile with your eyes. Banks already had an ice cream truck in Dubai and is now opening a pop-up brick-and-mortar store stateside in Woodley Park, which will be in business from July 19-Sept. 20.
To celebrate the occasion, Banks wore a T-shirt bearing her company name and logo. She paired the shirt with a black blazer, fittingly leaning into the formal business aesthetic as founder of the company. She also wore skin-tight cropped pants which added another casual element to the outfit.
Banks matched the yellow logo on her shirt with a pair of bright sunshine-hued heels. The yellow not only matched her company branding but provided a cheerful tone to the ensemble with a vibrant splash of color. With the classic pump silhouette, the shoes featured a sharp pointed toe, an enclosed back, and a tall narrow heel. The inner side of the shoe left more of the foot exposed than the outer side, creating an eye-catching break in the silhouette.
Banks has worn a wide range of high heels throughout her career in fashion and television. She recently slipped into a pair of black pointed pumps at a Sports Illustrated party in May. The TV personality also showed off a plethora of glamorous look during her tenure as host of “Dancing With the Stars”; she wore shoes ranging from sparkling heeled sandals to beige patent pumps while on the competition series.
