Tyler the Creator graced Netflix’s “The Piano Lesson” Los Angeles premiere held yesterday. The star is good friends with Malcolm Washington, the director of the upcoming film.
The “See You Again” rapper took the premiere by storm, clad in ultra-stylish collaborative footwear via Converse and his brand Golf Le Fleur. The seemingly unreleased sneaker was comprised of forest green suede and contrasting light green leather uppers accompanied by sleek white cotton lace-up closures.
Converse and Golf Le Fleur co-branding could be seen throughout the sneaker composition along with the word “Jogger,” making the shoe instantly recognizable. White stitching all over offered the sneaker a rugged feel. Worn with ankle-length white socks, the look was exceedingly preppy and reminiscent of retro silhouettes. The pair seems to be available for purchase as of now.
Accompanying his colorful footwear, the musician sported a sleek brown set that included a blazer and matching tailored trousers. Going whimsical, Tyler toted a crossbody bag in the shape of a dog along with a green baseball cap and a colorful Louis Vuitton monogrammed belt.
The rapper’s Golf Le Fleur’s collaboration with Converse first began in the summer of 2017 when he reinvented the Converse One Star in true Tyler style. The footwear design included fuzzy suede green uppers and Tyler’s flower on the lateral sides. Beyond the Converse One Star, Tyler also dropped the Chuck 70 in 2017, which reinterprets the kick with straw-law uppers and neutral cream accents.
Netflix’s “The Piano Lesson” is a 2024 musical drama directed by Malcolm Washington and starring talents like John David Washington, Samuel L. Jackson, Erykah Badu, Corey Hawkins and Danielle Deadwyler, among others. The film is based on a play of the same name written by American playwright August Wilson created in 1987. The Netflix movie follows the Charles family as they grapple with family legacy and difficult decisions while determining the fate of their heirloom piano, exploring deeper themes along the way.
