Teyana Taylor was bound to be a showstopper at the 2025 Met Gala. The actress was on hosting duties for Vogue on the red carpet for the event, which is celebrating “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and is taking place on May 5 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
For the gala, the “One Battle After Another” star was dressed in a Zoot suit she designed alongside legendary costume designer Ruth E. Carter. On her feet, Taylor opted for the cult-favorite Kiki Boots by Marc Jacobs.
The multi-color red and black platform shoes featured a chunky heel and straps across the foot. Dainty rose appliqué sat on top two of the straps, likely an ode to the Harlem native’s 2018 song “Rose in Harlem.”
The three-piece suit, featured a burgundy red that matches the shoes, as well as the burgundy and black pin-stripes. The suit included a long overcoat and she paired the look with a long, burgundy cape, a silk durag and matching hat. “I designed this with the legendary icon Ruth E. Carter,” she said, while hosting the Vogue live stream. “The shoes are Marc Jacobs but the suit is designed by me and Ruth E. Carter.”
Her accessories and jewelry were made by David Yurman. She wore a High Jewelry Pave Chain Necklaces in 18K White Gold, a Madison Chain Necklace in sterling silver, Archival Renaissance Brooches and High Jewelry Pave Chain Necklace in 18K White Gold with Ruby Angelika Enhancer in sterling silver with diamonds.
The 2025 Met Gala is being held on May 5 in New York. The theme, “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” celebrates all things African American styles and culture.
