Tessa Thompson arrived at the 2024 V&A Summer Party celebrating the “Naomi: In Fashion” exhibition on June 19 in a layered black ensemble that she set off with black slingback pumps by Saint Laurent.
Thompson was in attendance at the annual event hosted by London’s Victoria & Albert Museum, which this year celebrates the forthcoming exhibit “Naomi: In Fashion,” a tribute to Naomi Campbell‘s extensive and unparalleled career in fashion.
For the fashion-focused event, Thompson opted for a shiny black mini dress which she wore underneath an ankle-length black jacket. A silver Peter Pan collar adorned with an abstract floral design served as a dramatic focal point of the outfit. Ruched lacy sleeves peeked out beyond the arms of her jacket, adding another texture to the layered ensemble.
On her feet, Thompson went for a sleek shoe choice with Saint Laurent’s Yasmeen slingback pumps in black silk satin. The glossy shoes feature a leather sole, a sharply pointed toe and provide 4.5 inches of height with a narrow heel. The adjustable ankle strap makes a dazzling statement with a rhinestone buckle. The heels retail for $1,190 from Saint Laurent; in addition to black, they are also available in shades called Noisette and Kaki.
Meanwhile at the party, Campbell herself wore a white outfit by Hugo Boss, the brand that she is currently collaborating with (the German company also sponsored the event). For her footwear, she wore white peep-toe stilettos.
Thompson has shown off her distinctive taste in shoes throughout her career in entertainment, which spans theater, film, television and now includes her own production company Viva Maude. Last year while promoting “Creed III,” she wore a pair of black knee-high leather boots on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” Also in 2023, she slipped on a bold pair of six-inch black platform heels for the “Creed III” premiere afterparty in London.
