Tate McRae got comfy and casual in a pair of dress loafers while out and about in New York City with boyfriend The Kid Laroi in New York City on Thursday night.

Crafted with leather and boasting a flat design, the shoes were characterized by a round design, and molded to her foot for a fitted, cozy style. The shoes were also equipped with a leather outsole to provide durability, grip and traction, serving as a compliment to her outfit. For the rest of her ensemble, the “What Would You Do?” singer wore a black bodycon top and matching cargo pants, accessorizing her outfit with pink faux fur and a black clutch.

While flats are a popular choice for many, they are also a departure from McRae normal upscale selections. For the iHeart Radio’s Jingle Ball concert in Boston in December 2022, McRae was captured in a pair of glossy lug-sole boots that included rounded toes, crafted from smooth leather, and thick paneled rubber lug soles for extra height boost. Pairing the boots with a red bodycon top with a structured corset bodice, waxed black denim pants with a swinging thong-strap belt, a black leather bolero complete with a black and white-stitched choker and two delicate gold necklaces and earrings, the silhouette was rounded out by a chunky heel measuring between 2-to-3 inches in height.

Dress shoes first began gaining popularity circa the early 1800s as a rebellion against knee-high and ankle-high boots. They are typically made with leather material, and are regarded for their comfort, versatility and ability to last for decades. The modern dress shoe is much different than the original shoe established in the 1800s, as the present model offers a more refined look. Many brands including Gucci, Versace and Burberry offer different variations of dress shoes.
