Taraji P. Henson made a glamorous appearance in the Big Apple on Tuesday, where she lit up the Empire State Building alongside Oprah and her fellow cast members from “The Color Purple.”
Joining Danielle Brooks, Fantasia Barrino, Blitz Bazawule and the iconic former talk show host, Henson showed off a winter chic pink look for the the occasion.
On foot, Henson donned light pink leather stiletto boots with a pointy elongated toe that poked out from underneath her long, dusty pink sweater dress. She threw a bubblegum pink fur coat over the cozy knit dress, which featured an asymmetrical off-the-shoulder neckline with a belt detail across the chest.
The “Hidden Figures” star was later seen hitting the streets in a different, more comfortable pair of boots, a short chestnut Ugg model. Henson sported the brand’s best-selling sheepskin-lined “Classic Mini ll” boot, which retails at $160. The style featuring a 5-inch shaft height that hits just above the ankle is offered in ten colorways to choose from.
Over the years, the “Empire” actress has displayed a love of vibrant hues and loud prints and often wears colorful footwear. Just last month, at another event to promote her new film, Henson wore a pair of slouchy bright red knee-high boots.
Whether she’s walking the red carpet or simply out and about, the actress often embraces bold dressing. She’s been known to wear designers such as Alexandre Vauthier, Giambattista Valli and Valentino on the red carpet. In terms of shoes, she gravitates toward Jimmy Choos and Christian Louboutins.
