Sofia Carson had fun with winter dressing in a black-and-white getup completed with black pointed-toe pumps at the SAG Awards preview event in Los Angeles on Thursday.
She paired a very Mod (ala ’60s London) white-and-black collared long-sleeved dress with sheer black tights pointed-toe slingback pumps. While the photos don’t offer more details, the shoes appear to have stiletto heels and possibly be made from a lush velvet material.
Pumps are a classic women’s shoe style that have remained a red carpet favorite for their versatility and elegance. Pointed-toe pumps with a slim stiletto are a popular variation of the shoe, and have increased in popularity in recent years, thanks to pointy toes coming back into trend after their heyday in the ’80s and ’90s. You can find pointed-toe pumps from prestigious designers including Manolo Blahnik, Yves Saint Laurent, Dior, Gianvito Rossi and Balenciaga.
Carson’s style is girly and feminine and often bridges classic and modern style with a healthy dose of flair. For footwear, Carson tends to gravitate towards strappy sandals, pointed-toe pumps, thigh-high boots and towering platform heels.
Carson was the official ambassador for the SAG Awards preview event held at the Shrine Auditorium yesterday. The 31st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, aka SAG Awards, will take place this Sunday, Feb. 23 and air live on Netflix. “Wicked” leads with the most nominations at this year’s awards show with five nods, including best lead actress for Cynthia Erivo, best supporting actress for Ariana Grande and best supporting actor for Johnathan Bailey. The show will be hosted by Kristen Bell, and Jane Fonda is set to receive the Life Achievement Award.
Carson is starring in a new Netflix rom-com called “The Life List,” due to the streaming platform on March 28.
