Selena Gomez Shows off Elegant Look In Custom Gown and Velour Shoes From Schiaparelli at the Baftas 2025

Selena Gomez continues to celebrate “Emilia Pérez” in head-turning elegant attire. The multi-hyphenate artist attended the 2025 BAFTA Film Awards in London on Feb. 16 wearing a custom Schiaparelli gown with shoes from the brand to match, both of which exuded a vintage sophistication.
Gomez’s full-length fitted gown was a sight to behold, sparkling with intricate silvery embellishments from the halter neck strap down to the column skirt. Jewels dangled from the dress, offering the sumptuous garment a chandelier-like quality. Underneath the shimmering scoop halter neck, a black velvet off-the-shoulder detail with a sweetheart neckline contributed to the gown’s vintage aura. Her accessories included dazzling jewelry from Tiffany & Co. in addition to her Abril Barret engagement ring gifted by her fiancé, Benny Blanco. Gomez recently announced that she and Blanco are putting out an album together called “I Said I Love You First,” set for a March 21 release.
Gomez maintained the retro aesthetic with a shoe choice courtesy of Schiaparelli: a pair of pumps playing with the classic T-strap aesthetic. The “Only Murders in the Building” actress appeared to be wearing a style seen in the luxury brand’s fall 2024 haute couture show. The velvet heels feature a triangular outline along the vamp aligning with a pointed toe in front. A vertical strap across the foot connects with two diagonal straps, creating more of a Y shape than a T, but still recalling the footwear style that was ultra popular in the earlier 20th century; also of note, this shoe demonstrated a slingback version of the aesthetic, rather than a closed heel design. Not to mention, Gomez’s shoes shimmered with a crystal-embellished spherical detail at the bottom of the stiletto heels; this element and the velvet material aligned with the design of her dress.

Gomez has been leaning into classically elegant fashions in recent times. She showcased white slingback pumps from Santoni, for example, when she received the Virtuoso Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival earlier this month.
