Selena Gomez was in full bloom for the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
While hitting the red carpet during this year’s ceremony at Newark, N.J.’s Prudential Center on Tuesday night, Gomez struck a pose in a set of deep red sandals. The “Single Soon” musician’s Jimmy Choo style featured smooth satin uppers with thin toe and buckled ankle straps, set atop matching thin soles for a streamlined finish. Gomez’s pair was minimally complete with thin stiletto heels, providing her with a sharp height boost during the occasion.
The “Hands To Myself” singer’s tonal footwear created a monochrome finish for her matching outfit during the awards: a red sleeveless Oscar de la Renta dress crafted with thin fabric shaped like dangling, blooming flowers on leaf-tipped stems — all covered in gleaming red beads for intricately detailed effect. Layered atop a nude silk minidress-style base, Gomez’s attire was smoothly elevated with sparkling diamond-covered flower post earrings — as well as matching cocktail rings — to create a truly garden-worthy effect at the event.
Gomez was one of numerous stars to arrive at the Awards in a height-boosting set of stiletto-heeled sandals. During the occasion, similar footwear graced the feet of celebrities across the red carpet, including Taylor Swift, Nelly Furtado and GloRilla.
The MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) celebrate the top music videos and performances in the music industry. This year’s awards show will honor Shakira with the Video Vanguard Award for her musical contributions to pop culture, and feature a range of performances by stars, including Doja Cat, Anitta, Cardi B, Meghan Thee Stallion, Nicki Minaj and Olivia Rodrigo.
