Selena Gomez is continuing her streak of great looks on the red carpet. The singer was in Los Angeles last night for the world premiere of Disney Channel’s latest reboot, “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place.” For the evening the performer and her stylist, Erin Walsh, chose an all red look.
Gomez’s shoe was Christian Louboutin‘s Hot Chick slingback. The style sits on a stiletto of about four inches. It includes a sharply pointed toe as well as a rounded vamp. Made of patent leather, it’s also a slingback style and includes a scalloped trim that is signature for Hot Chick styles.
The most famous Hot Chick is likely the pump iteration with a stiletto of about six inches. It’s been previously worn by Zendaya in 2015 to the Radio Disney Music Awards and others, though the company does not sell it publicly. A single-sole shoe, it includes the scalloped design as well with a dangerously steep pitch.
But the slingback version is timely. Slingbacks have been trending heavily this year. In fact, Greta Gerwig wore a black version of the patent leather Louboutin Hot Chick to the Cannes Film Festival closing ceremony. Slingbacks were in major rotation for that international event with celebrities choosing options from Miu Miu, Gucci and Saint Laurent amongst other labels. Gomez wore a white pair trimmed in black from Roger Vivier named the Viv Canard. But since then, they’ve continued to be a mainstay.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Gomez has turned to Louboutin, a brand known as much for its quality as it is for its signature red soles. Over the weekend, she wore a pair of sultry D’orsay style pumps from the company to the 2nd Annual Rare Impact Fund Benefit. At the “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” premiere she wore the shoe with a sequin embroidered, custom red dress from Rodarte. It is a midi-length designed dress with peplum detailing at the waist and a strapless neckline.
“Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” is an upcoming TV series that is as a spin-off and sequel to “Wizards of Waverly Place,” in which Gomez starred in as a child alongside David Henrie, Jake T. Austin, Jennifer Stone and more. The new show debuts on Disney Channel on Oct. 29.
