Throughout her career, Selena Gomez has been able to balance modesty and sexiness through her styling choices and her latest look perfectly embodies that. The actress turned heads when she arrived to the premiere of her upcoming movie “Emilia Pérez” held during the 62nd New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall on Sept. 30 in New York City.
Gomez wore a custom Vera Wang black floor-length black dress, which featured a plunging neckline and halter straps that led to a huge bow that sat perfectly at the nape of her neck. The “Only Murders In the Building” star, who was styled by Erin Walsh, finished off the look with black sleeves and jewelry by Tiffany & Co.
While the dress was elegant and featured romantic details throughout, Gomez turned up the heat in a pair of towering Giuseppe Zanotti Black patent leather platform heels. The open toe shoe is the brand’s Tarifa design, originally priced at $995 and currently on sale for $597.
While the shoes weren’t visible on the red carpet, Walsh shared a behind-the-scenes video of the star that shows the shoes peeking through the slit on the back of the dress. The also showed as she held the skirt of the dress up as she walked to the event in New York City. Walsh and Gomez teamed up for the Venice Film Festival premiere of the film, where the actress wore a black and white gown by Saint Laurent and Santoni platform heels.
The cast of “Emilia Pérez” joined Gomez on the carpet at the New York Film Festival, including Zoe Saldaña, Edgar Ramirez, Adriana Paz, Karla Sofia Gascon and more. “Emilia Pérez” tells the story of a high-powered lawyer named Rita (Zoe Saldaña), who takes on an unexpected assignment to help a Mexican cartel leader (Karla Sofia Gascón) fake their death and undergo sex-reassignment operations.
The film will arrive in select theaters on Nov. 1 and will be available to stream on Netflix on Nov. 13.
