Sarah Jessica Parker Wears Gray Skirt Suit and Jeweled ‘Made In Italy’ SJP Collection Pump Shoes for Torino Film Festival

Sarah Jessica Parker is feeling a bit Italian while in Italy. The actor is attending the Torino Film Festival. After arriving for day one and wearing a black and white look, for the second day the “And Just Like That…” performer opted for gray. She pulled on a dark gray skirt from Gucci as well as a gray double breasted jacket. She even carried Gucci’s Jackie bag. But her shoes carried a message.

For footwear, Parker wore a pair of black pumps. The shoes included a jeweled buckle on each vamp. The vamp was straight, cutting low on the toes. The shoe is the SJP Collection Windsor pump. The Windsor pump is one of Parker’s favorite silhouettes. She notably wore it back in 2018 at the Golden Globe Awards. That version included embellishments all over.

The silhouette is in-part based on the classic Manolo Blahnik Hangisi. The Windsor’s buckle is wider than the Hangisi’s. In addition, the vamp is also cut wider, going deeper on the sides and affecting a more angular approach to the Hangisi’s rounded corners.

At the film festival, Parker’s pumps included a message. Beneath the buckle they sported the words Made In Italy. They also included faded text on the toe. This appeared as if they were styled as a shoe sample. But it also carried the message of the look: Gucci is an Italian brand and though SJP Collection is not, the shoes were made there.

SJP Collection shuttered its footwear operation earlier this year. “After 10 colorful years, SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker has made the difficult decision to close its doors this fall,” said a statement from the brand. “The SJP Collection team expresses enormous gratitude to all of their loyal customers and supporters, as well as all those they’ve worked alongside.”

The company had launched in 2014 and boasted multiple store locations over the years. The flagship store on Bleaker Street in New York City closed in August of this year. Parker had embarked on the venture with George Malkemus after putting a spotlight on shoe brands like Blahnik, Jimmy Choo and Christian Louboutin via “Sex and the City.”
