Sarah Jessica Parker returned to form as Carrie Bradshaw this week. On Wednesday night, she appeared at Kensington Palace with her husband, Matthew Broderick, for the Ambassador Theatre Group’s annual ATG Summer Party — where the celebrity couple was honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards for their careers in theatre.
For the occasion, the “Sex and the City” star slipped on her namesake SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker brand’s $450 Dish sandals — an open-toed style with a thin base, slingback straps and 4-inch stiletto heels — in an unreleased metallic green tone.
Parker’s crystal charm-adorned style featured a mirrored texture, allowing them to add a shiny flair to her outfit: a slit green Elie Saab dress, two jewel-adorned bracelets and a crystal-coated shoulder bag — much like trendy new styles from labels including Benedetta Bruzziches, Nina and Cult Gaia. However, her two-toned green outfit also instantly channeled a new reference to Bradshaw — whom Parker has portrayed in the “Sex and the City” franchise for 25 years.
In Season Two of the show’s revival series “And Just Like That,” Parker wore a monochrome green dress and motorcycle jacket with a set of metallic green Gianvito Rossi pumps and a custom chain-link Marla Aaron necklace. The character’s attire in that instance also harkened to the green strapless dress Parker wore as Bradshaw in 2008’s “Sex and the City” movie, memorably paired with a studded Roger belt and Dior’s reptilian Gladiator Extreme platform sandals. Both moments’ tonal colors — as well as their sleek respective heels — brought Parker’s monochrome party attire an instantly nostalgic feel, while remaining modern and sharp for the formal affair.
While at the Palace, Parker made a colorful statement while giving a speech at the occasion — which also raised funds to support Sir Sam Mendes’ Theatre Artists Fund — and mingling with friends including Cara Delevingne, Charlotte Tilbury and Jenna Coleman. The actress also shared on Instagram that her and Broderick’s Broadway play “Plaza Suite” will return to the stage at the Savoy Theatre in London in March 2024.
Parker is a chameleon with a colorful and sparkly shoe collection — with some notable favorites, often from her own SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker brand. The “Failure to Launch” actress regularly wears T-strap and pointed-toe pumps on the red carpet, both from her namesake line and brands like Manolo Blahnik, Rene Caovilla and Christian Louboutin.
Off-duty, she’s also been seen in boots, flats and sandals from Isabel Marant, Repetto and Swedish Hasbeens, and is known to don Koolaburra’s wedge sneakers for an added height boost.
