Sabrina Carpenter was a sight to behold on the red carpet at the Time100 Next event held in New York City on Oct. 9 — the honoree dazzled in a silver Versace gown paired with matching metallic platform mules.
Carpenter’s dress was made of a thin chainmail-like material, which hugged her figure and transitioned into a straight skirt that hit the floor. Adding a flirty flair, a slit at the top of her left thigh exposed her leg and complementary footwear.
While the dress was strapless, a scarf of the same fabric was draped around her neck, evoking a graceful retro aesthetic. Her hair was styled in her signature blonde waves while diamond rings served as dazzling additions to the outfit.
The “Espresso” singer, known for her affinity for platforms, elevated her look with a tall pair of silver metallic sandals. The shoes featured a significant rounded platform in front, making her footwear a prominent part of her ensemble. They were a mule style sandal, meaning the back of the foot was uncovered; meanwhile, a single hourglass-shaped strap in front reached across the toes.
Carpenter’s shoes strongly resembled Giuseppe Zanotti’s Gz Aida sandals, which feature mirror-effect synthetic fabric and a leather sole. They are also available in a gold metallic option in addition to black and white patent versions; they retail for $895 but are currently on sale for $537.
This wouldn’t be the first time Carpenter, who is five feet tall, wore Giuseppe Zanotti shoes. She hit the red carpet at the VMAs in September wearing a pair of white platform heels from the brand paired with Madonna’s 1991 Oscars dress.
Zanotti recently spoke with FN about his designing process during Milan Fashion Week, saying, “I like to create a fusion between shoes and accessories.”
