Rosario Dawson took Studio 189’s latest runway show by storm during New York Fashion Week — with sharp heels, to boot.
On Sunday morning, Dawson walked the runway at Spring Studios for her and co-founder Abrima Erwiah’s spring 2024 fashion show. For the occasion, the actress slipped on a pair of black ankle booties with stretchy fabric uppers and triangular pointed toes. The set was finished with thin heels, providing Dawson with a dash of elevation as she closed the fashion-forward event.
The “Haunted Mansion” star’s booties served as a versatile base for her complementary outfit. During the occasion, Dawson wore a strapless black and brown-paneled top, overlaid with an abstract spotted white print. The piece was tucked into a high-waisted brown midi skirt with a tiered hem and allover white polka dots, which Dawson coordinated with her accessory of choice: a deep brown-green collar necklace strung with red, brown and black beads, as well as a series of dangling white disc charms.
Dawson’s attire mixed neutral tones with a distinctly contemporary flair, which Studio 189 has become known for since her and Erwiah launched the label in 2013. It also provided a lesson in combining patterns as well, as her look’s top and skirt featured differently shaped prints with the same stark tone and a rounded base.
The occasion notably commemorated Studio 189’s tenth anniversary, with its show including a dance performance and concurrent speech by Dawson and Erwiah. It also featured a star-studded front row t0 celebrate the occasion, with attendees including Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott, Joshua Jackson, Bonnie McKee and more.
NYFW is held in New York City in September, marking the start of Fashion Month. The spring 2024 season will see a calendar of fashion shows and presentations from a range of designers, including Ralph Lauren, Christian Siriano, Proenza Schouler and more. The occasion will also include numerous parties and activations from brands like Aldo, J.Crew, MCM and more.
