Rihanna was making runs with and without her A$AP Rocky on Saturday while in Los Angeles. Hitting West Hollywood, at one point with their son Riot Rose in tow, the singer cut a striking figure. Part of that was due to her look, which included a a striped cotton jacket and trouser set from Bottega Veneta. The brand, of which Rocky is a face, is getting a lot of chatter at the moment as its creative director Matthieu Blazy recently announced he is leaving to take the top spot at Chanel.
Rihanna‘s look, worn with a scarf, is form the brand’s pre-fall 2024 collection. She also sported one of her go-to street style accessories—a NY Yankees cap.
For shoes, the style star chose a pair of sneakers of her own design. The shoes were a pair of Fenty X Puma Avanti Pony shoes. That style was released in February in an extremely limited quantity. It notably sports furry calf hair. What’s more is each shoe features a unique speckled pattern, as each calf would its own unique pattern.
Though the lux calf hair did come available in an all-white version, it was the dappled white and brown that got most attention. Only 2,000 pairs were made available. It’s built on the Puma Avanti silhouette including a retro gum sole and embroidered Fenty branding. Rih first started iterating on the soccer-inspired Avanti in 2023. That first version was unveiled in the middle of Paris Fashion Week.
The initial launch included a black/white colorway as well as chrome. It was discussed in a FN cover story. “[Soccer] is a universal language that brings people together from all over the world, all walks of life, and I wanted to pay homage to that,” Rihanna said at the time. Since then, they’ve also introduced a red version as well.
Rihanna and Puma have been working together for a decade. Their most notable success was the Fenty Creeper, a platform style. In addition, the star has previously served as the creative director of Stance Socks and collaborated with a much-anticipated line with Manolo Blahnik which sold out.
