Rihanna Debuts Unreleased Gianvito Rossi Crystal-Embellished Sandal For A$AP Rocky’s Birthday Dinner in New York City

Rihanna gets it first. The global music star and beauty mogul stepped out with boyfriend A$AP Rocky on Thursday night in New York City in some unreleased duds. Celebrating Rocky’s birthday, Rihanna wore a fur jacket, black bodycon dress and a pair of sandals that have yet to be seen.
While Rocky wore a pair of $1,250 black Bottega Veneta Strut derby shoes in leather, Rihanna’s shoes were Gianvito Rossi‘s Montecarlo style. Though the Montecarlo silhouette has been released by Gianvito Rossi before, with versions of it available for purchase now, Rihanna’s version is from the brand’s resort 2025 collection. The line will hit stores in the next few months and Rihanna’s shoe has yet to be worn by any other celebrity.
The footwear is a sandal. The base is a leopard-printed velvet, which is new for the Montecarlo, with a pointed toe. It also sports a stiletto heel of just over four inches. Otherwise, the shoe is in-line with the strappy sandal trend that has been picking up on red carpets and in celebrity dressing: it sports a crystal embellished strap across the foot as well as a crystal embellished bow tie ankle strap.

The rest of the Gianvito Rossi resort 2025 collection incorporates various trending silhouettes — there is an open-toe mule, a slingback, a second-skin boot, as well as a short Western-cut boot — featuring crystal embellishment as well as leopard-printed velvet. Rossi has also been a go-to brand as of late for celebrities, dressing quite a number of them over the past three months.
