Reina King dazzled her feet in Roger Vivier heels for the Los Angeles premiere of “A Man in Full” at the Tudum Theater on Wednesday.
“A Man in Full,” a new Netflix series, is based on the popular novel of the same name by Tom Wolfe. The story follows Atlanta real estate magnate Charlie Croker (played by Jeff Daniels), who faces financial ruin when his business unexpectedly goes bankrupt. As Charlie tries to salvage his empire, political and corporate forces converge, with various parties attempting to exploit his downfall. The series premieres on Netflix on May 2.
Reina was accompanied by her sister and director, Regina King. Cast members in attendance included Jon Michael Hill, Chanté Adams, Aml Ameen, Evan Roe, and Sarah Jones, director Thomas Schlamme, and showrunner David E. Kelley.
We have seen the King sisters taking on red carpets more recently after the release of the new John Ridley-directed Netflix film “Shirley,” a biopic about Shirley Chisholm, the first Black congresswoman and former presidential hopeful.
At the Los Angeles premiere of the biopic, Regina opted for a pair of metallic gold pumps. In contrast, Reina chose a distinctive pair of green Jimmy Choo‘s Heloise velvet platform sandals with a significant 4.7-inch block heel.
Incorporating two of Roger Vivier’s signature designs, the black RV Bouquet platform heels showcase a glamorous finish. Featuring a square peep toe, slender ankle straps, and a curved stiletto heel, these heels exude elegance.
Crafted in Italy from lustrous satin, they are adorned with the Maison’s signature floral crystal-embellished buckle, inspired by antique jewelry. The combination of classic elements and modern design results in the essence of Roger Vivier.
In the 1950s, legendary shoe designer Monsieur Roger Vivier created the first stiletto heel, introducing a new era of luxurious footwear. Inspired by the savoir-faire of French embroidery houses, his designs were extravagantly embellished and meticulously crafted, elevating the status of shoes to sculptural pieces.
Renowned clientele of Roger Vivier included esteemed figures such as The Beatles, Gloria Guinness, Ava Gardner, and the revered British monarch, Queen Elizabeth II. Notably, the Queen honored Vivier by donning his design for her coronation in 1953, an extraordinary moment for the designer.
