Reece Feldman wore black, patent leather Thom Browne shoes to the Met Gala 2024 red carpet in New York City on Monday.
The elevated shoes showcased a green platform adorned with white and multiple shades of green florals. The heels, measuring approximately 2 inches, are designed with a round toe. Feldman complemented the look with a Thom Browne grey suit and skirt, alongside a large black leather dog handbag from the same designer.
The social media star is no stranger to Thom Browne. The 25-year-old has worn the fashionable line at several other star studded events including the 2023: CDFA Awards in November in Los Angeles where he had the opportunity to interview Browne while wearing his designs. Feldman also attended Thom Browne’s Men’s & Women’s Fall 2023 Collection at New York Fashion Week (NYFW) in February, opting for black shoes. He also sported black shoes at Thom Browne’s 2022 runway show, which also took place in New York City.
There are several types of platform shoes, including boots, sneakers and sandals. Platform loafers, unlike leather dress shoes, are a more casual footwear choice, perfect for any occasion including attending high-profile red carpet events.
The Met Gala raises funds for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City and celebrates the Costume Institute’s annual exhibits. This year’s theme, “The Garden of Time,” celebrates the “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion” exhibit. The 2024 event is notably co-chaired by Zendaya, Jennifer Lopez, Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth and Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.
