The Schoenenkwartier museum, which reopened in 2022, is a new and innovative knowledge center for shoe design, shoe production and shoe fashion based in the center of Waalwijk, which is known as the Dutch leather and shoe city. The facility, which currently houses a collection of 12,000 objects, welcomed the royal on an extensive visit that consisted of touring their knowledge center, shoe lab, professional workshops and more.

Queen Maxima continued her trend of wearing timeless pointed pumps for the occasion. Last week, she was spotted alongside Queen Letizia of Spain at a ceremony welcoming the Spanish royals at the Royal Palace of Amsterdam wearing Gianvito Rossi’s signature stiletto pumps. The shoes featured a red leather composition and were complete with a heel measuring just over 4 inches.

About the shoes

For her visit to the Schoenenkwartier museum, Queen Maxima wore a pair of modern burgundy pointed-toe pumps that featured a burgundy leather upper and a mid-sized stiletto heel. The royal has previously worn the same style as Gianvito Rossi for a number of high-profile events. The standout look, which complimented the rest of her look, was finished with a stiletto heel that measured roughly 4 inches.

About pointed-toe pumps

Pointed-toe shoes are regarded as a classic style that merges together elements of vintage and modern-day fashion. Known as a preferred shoe for red carpets and formal occasions, the popularity of the slim stiletto heel started re-emerging again in 2021, and has continued to rise in as a trending fashion in the years since. Various designers including Jimmy Choo, Saint Laurent, offer many different iterations of the style within their respective catalogs.
