Priscilla Chan attended the 2025 Breakthrough Prize held tonight in Santa Monica.

The pediatrician took to the carpet in a pair of wedges hailing from Alaia in the color Dune. Currently retailing for $1,240, the chosen slip-on style includes satin uppers in a sandy color accompanied by pointed toes and cubic wedged heels standing at 2.9 inches.
The shoe is akin to a mule and is manufactured in Italy. The Cube Wedge mule also comes in a darker rich brown satin colorway. The slip-on is a safe option, allowing Chan to traverse the red carpet with ease. Wedges are often a casual choice, however, the satin finish of Chan’s Alaia pick acted to elevate the basic silhouette, creating a lux feel.
The educator paired her wedges with a suiting-inspired moment. The ensemble was formal and whimsical, featuring a high-waisted black skirt with a flared balloon hem accompanied by a crisp white tee and a sharp black oversized blazer with satin lapels. As for accessories, Chan toted a glossy black leather clutch accompanied by a chunky silver and black chain necklace featuring a bow motif.
The philanthropist has worn numerous pairs of sharp heeled sandals over the years, ranging from metallic tones to classic neutral hues on the red carpet. When off-duty, she can be seen in low-top sneakers in both colorful and white hues — plus the occasional slip-on set with metallic accents.
The 11th annual 2025 Breakthrough Prize, popularly known as the “Oscars of Science,” takes place tonight in Santa Monica. The occasion observes scientists driving remarkable discoveries in a slew of impressive fields.
