Phoebe Gates made a striking appearance at the Clooney Foundation for Justice’s 2023 Albie Awards in New York City on Thursday night.
The 21-year-old daughter of Bill and Melinda Gates stepped out in an elegant black look from Versace‘s resort 2024 collection for the gala held at the storied New York Public Library. Glittery black pumps featuring a classic pointed toe grounded the Stanford student’s glamorous ensemble for the evening.
The style she wore appeared to be studded with tiny black rhinestones all over, seamlessly complementing the subtly flashy embellishments adorning the neckline of her semi-sheer long-sleeve bustier top. Rounding out her look, Gates donned a long black skirt that looked almost like she was wearing a dress.
The women’s health advocate was joined by her mother Melinda Gates. The philanthropist chose an indigo one-shoulder gown featuring floral appliques throughout. While her shoes were mostly eclipsed by her dress, a glimpse of silver platforms poked out from underneath the hem.
Last month, Gates celebrated a new handbag collaboration from Stella McCartney and Phia — a soon-to-launch fashion platform founded by Gates and her roommate Sophia Kianni. The bag, which comes in two slightly different versions, serves as a nod to the 50th anniversary of the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). As such, in addition to chain handles, the sleek bag is designed with crystal-embellished ribbons that pay homage to the iconic tennis bracelet.
