Paris Hilton was one of a group of women choosing black on Saturday night. She joined names like Olivia Wilde and Gal Gadot who wore all black to the Breakthrough Prize. She joined others like Gayle King, Lily Collins, Jodie Foster and Gwyneth Paltrow.
Hilton’s dress was a floor length black dress. The dress features sequin embellishments giving it quite a bit of shimmer. In place of sleeves, the dress included sheer panels. She also wore black sheer opera length gloves and a silver choker. The dress also includes slits up the side.
Though they weren’t extremely visible, Hilton wore a pair of Betsey Johnson Nash heels in black. The style includes a mesh upper. The mesh is sheer. It also includes paillettes arranged into floral-like embellishments throughout the upper.
The silhouette is a half d’orsay style. This means that on the inside of the shoe there is a cutout. The shoe also includes a four-inch sculpted heel. The brand still sells the shoe for $139. Some retailers have it for $98.
The sole includes the signature Betsey Blue sole. It was introduced with the Blue by Betsey Johnson line in 2013. Johnson’s shoe designs are often moderately priced, and feature colorful prints and fun embellishments. The designs are always uniquely feminine. The company has been owned by Steve Madden since 2010.
Hilton is a major fan of fun and feminine styles. She often catches attention in sparkly shoes like the Stuart Weitzman boots she has in multiple colors that she wears for performances and other important appearances. This year at the Grammys, she wore a pair of sheer, glitter embellished pumps.
The annual Breakthrough Prize ceremony is put on by the Breakthrough Prize Foundation. The organization honors scientists for their work in “gene editing, human diseases, the fundamental particles of the Universe and its underlying mathematical principles.” Some have referred to the event as the Oscars of Science. The six Breakthrough Prizes this year were $3 million each.
