Whenever she gets a chance to break away from filming the hit series “Orange Is the New Black,” Jackie Cruz is all about red-carpet glam.
“I’m filming Season 5 [of the show] right now, and it’s so crazy,” Cruz told FN on Wednesday night at Macy’s New York Fashion Week kickoff show. “Getting to wear makeup — like real lipstick and some contour — is awesome. We definitely don’t get to do that on set.”

The actress, who plays Marisol “Flaca” Gonzales on Netflix’s No. 1 original series, hit the red carpet at Macy’s Presents Fashion’s Front Row in black, pointed-toe Anne Klein pumps.
“I am crazy with shoes — I just see one and I buy it. I don’t care about the brand that much,” Cruz said. “I [like] Stuart Weitzman. I just bought the over-the-knee boot, and that’s going to be my signature for this [year’s] fashion week.”
But since she’s knee deep in filming for OITNB, Cruz said she’ll only manage to squeeze in a few fashion week events this year.
“I’m going to Rag & Bone and Nicole Miller — she’s a friend of mine, so I go every year,” Cruz said. “I’m not going to many shows this year because it’s complicated trying to [squeeze] in hair and makeup [for fashion week events] in between filming.”
