Oprah Winfrey was spotted in New York yesterday clad in a casual ensemble. “The Color Purple” actress’ romp in the city follows her surprise appearance on day three of the Democratic National Convention held in Chicago.

Impactful but ultra-comfy, the former talk show host laced up a pair of unique canvas sneakers. The silhouette featured a mix of leather and canvas uppers in neutral shades of white and khaki that transitioned into coordinating white lace-up closures and eye-catching sparkling silver-capped toes.

Thick rubber platform-esque soles equipped with non-slip soles effectively elevated the style, creating length while modernizing the otherwise typical silhouette. Winfrey is a big fan of reworked sneakers. High-top or otherwise, the television personality loves her footwear fixed with sparkly touches or diverse colorways. Dramatic sneakers are an extremely effective and easy way to bring interest to any ensemble without sacrificing fashion.

For more casual occasions, she can be spotted in sneakers from Allbirds and Vionic, as well as platform brogues by Stella McCartney.
