Olivia Wilde graced the red carpet for the 2025 Breakthrough Prize held tonight in Santa Monica. Beyond Wilde, notable attendees included Christina Aguilera, Drew Barrymore, MrBeast, Lily Collins, Jodie Foster, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lionel Richie, Sia and Sydney Sweeney.
The “In Time” star was ready to turn heads in a pair of caged Aquazzura Passions pumps. Currently retailing for $925 via Luisaviaroma, the chosen style incorporated breathable mesh and textured black suede uppers that transitioned into pointed toes and leather lining.
Leather insoles featuring the Aquazzura name gave way to leather soles and stiletto heels standing at 4.1 inches in height. Finally, the brand’s gilded pineapple motifs rounded out the set, offering the set a touch of shine and whimsy. The caged detailing was edgy and bold, offsetting the dainty nature of her ensemble.
The “Don’t Worry Darling” actress opted for a lengthy black gown from Erdem. The cocktail dress sat off-the-shoulder and featured a large white floral motif that contrasted the black background it sat on. The fabric Wilde’s dress was made of was textured and slightly crinkled, drawing the eye. As for accessories, the thespian kept it light, sporting gold dangling earrings. The dainty style offered further contrast from the neutral black color scheme of her ensemble.
When it comes to shoes, Wilde tends to go the glamorous route on the red carpet. The “House” star regularly opts for metallic and embellished heeled sandals and elevated platforms for formal appearances, hailing from top brands like Gucci, Christian Louboutin, Casadei and Jimmy Choo, among others. Off-duty, Wilde is often more casual, slipping on a variety of Adidas sneakers, Steve Madden slippers and Lucchese ankle boots over the years.
The 11th annual 2025 Breakthrough Prize, popularly known as the “Oscars of Science,” takes place tonight in Santa Monica. The occasion observes scientists driving remarkable discoveries in a slew of impressive fields.
