Olivia Wilde was photographed leaving the gym yesterday in Los Angeles.
For her workout, the “Don’t Worry Darling” star laced up a pair of Adidas Samba low-top sneakers. Paired with white no-show socks, the low-top style featured the brand’s instantly recognizable three-stripe detailing in a contrasting white on the sides laid against the jet-black mixed mesh, leather and suede uppers.
Additionally, the athletic footwear featured white detailing on the heels and coordinating black lace-up closures. The low-top style was situated atop flexible gum rubber outsoles fitted with non-slip tread.
Sambas are seemingly taking over 2023. The footwear has enjoyed a renaissance of sorts, thanks to the tastemakers of our time like Bella Hadid or Hailey Bieber. The footwear was first released in 1949 and was created in order to enable football players to train on icy, hard ground. From dresses to baggy jeans, cozy sweats to leggings, Adidas‘ popular Sambas style also goes with just about everything. Since their conception, the style has become an iconic part of footwear culture.

Athletic sneakers of all kinds are a go-to item in many celebrities’ closets, Wilde’s included. The sporty footwear is often styled in casual situations accompanied by athleisure-adjacent wear including biker shorts, sports bras, graphic T-shirts and sweats.
As for her outfit, Wilde wore a black sports bra layered underneath a plain white cropped tee. On the bottom, the director donned high-waisted black leggings made of a comfortable stretchy fabric.
When it comes to shoes, Wilde often goes glamorous on the red carpet. The “In Time” actress regularly wears metallic and embellished heeled sandals and elevated platforms for formal occasions, hailing from top brands including Gucci, Christian Louboutin, Casadei and Jimmy Choo. Off-duty, Wilde is often more casual, slipping on Adidas sneakers, Steve Madden slippers and Lucchese ankle boots over the years.
