Olivia Rodrigo took ’90s style for a spin while celebrating the latest episode of “Saturday Night Live.”
On Sunday, Rodrigo stepped out in New York City for the sketch show’s afterparty — which followed her two musical sets during its new episode, hosted by actor Adam Driver. For the occasion, the “Guts” musician slipped on a pair of black suede pumps with faintly squared toes and platform soles, boosted by thick block heels for a balanced base.
Rodrigo opted to embrace tonal colors for the occasion, pairing her chunky heels with printed deep green and brown trousers and a pistachio-green crop top — which featured a tinsel-like texture for added shine. The singer completed her look with a glossy black patent leather shoulder bag, as well as several silver rings and dark nail polish — which gave the ensemble a distinctly vintage finish, reminiscent of similar attire worn in the ’90s by stars including Drew Barrymore, Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston.
Rodrigo’s appearance at the “SNL” afterparty followed her appearances as its new episode’s musical guest, where she performed two sets onstage. The first, “Vampire,” found the singer draped in a silver crystal-coated slip dress, given a grungy edge from lace-up boots while she sat at the piano.
The second, “All-American Bitch,” featured Rodrigo dancing on a banquet table in a set of black combat boots with ridged rubber soles. The utilitarian style added a rebellious flair to her whimsical look for the occasion: a pink babydoll dress with a Peter Pan collar,
Where footwear is concerned, Rodrigo often wears pairs that complement her edgy style. Black leather combat and knee-high boots by Dr. Martens, Naked Wolfe and Magda Butrym have proven to be her favorites, as well as sneakers by Vans and Converse. Her statement footwear choices often include chunky platforms or taller heels, like boots and brogues by Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs or T.U.K. On formal occasions, she can be seen in heeled styles by Giuseppe Zanotti, Nicholas Kirkwood, Sies Marjan and other high-end brands.
