Olivia Palermo has a chic sense of style. The fashion personality was on hand at the Footwear News Achievement Awards on Tuesday evening in New York to present Brand of the Year to Schutz designer Alexandre Birman.

“I love him. The Juliana is a favorite of mine and one of the most successful shoes they’ve done,” she said. “I’ve been a main supporter of Alex, watching his expansion.” In fact, the Juliana cage heel was the style Palermo wore to the event.

Palermo also talked about other designer favorites, including her first luxury purchases. “My first pair of great shoes were Manolo Blahnik BB pumps in white satin and Jimmy Choo slingbacks in a beautiful salmon color,” she said.

As for favorite trends of the moment, “I love a gray heel with a little fur on it. It’s really chic,” Palermo said.

But there are also trends that Palermo will never try. “I’ve never been a fan of big, masculine, chunky sandals with jeweled embellishments,” she said.
