Alongside her boyfriend and olympian Shaun White, the actress walked the red carpet at the Seine, where Paris is creating history by having the ceremony outside of a stadium. The 10,500 athletes will cross through the center of Paris as this year’s Games are commemorated with special performances and displays. Tennis player Coco Gauff and basketball player LeBron James will act as Team USA’s flagbearers as they lead Team USA during the ceremony. Other stars were in attendance including Chrissy Teigen, Ariana Grande and Kelly Clarkson. This year, the Games will run from July 26 to August 11.

Styled by Lauren Jeworski, Dobrev posed in a white t-shirt and a pair of trouser shorts. The set was layered by a black Ralph Lauren leather jacket that featured quilted shoulder panels and graphic patches along the sides of the zipper closure. She accessorized with white cat-eye sunglasses, a black leather shoulder bag and silver jewelry.

She completed the look with a pair of white Miu Miu loafers. The slip-on set featured a distressed look against the leather upper. Just below the label’s embroidered logo along the tongue sat a gold coin within the toe strap. Contrast came from the shoe’s black rubber sole. The loafers currently retail for $1,150.

Adding the sleek pair added a sophisticated touch to the look. When loafers were originally popularized in the early 1930s, it was meant to be a casual shoe to lounge around in. Now, like Dobrev, people have taken a liking to the clean, polished look completing their attire for the workplace and other formal events.
