Nicole Scherzinger Gets Vampy in Gianvito Rossi Pumps for ‘Sunset Blvd.’ Opening Night in New York

Nicole Scherzinger made her Broadway debut during the opening night of “Sunset Blvd.” held at the St. James Theater yesterday in New York.
Sticking to the classics, Scherzinger popped on a pair of the Gianvito 105 heels by Gianvito Rossi, which retails for $795. The shoe pick included glossy black patent leather uppers, along with sharp pointed toes and stiletto heels standing at around 2 to 3 inches in height. Although simplistic in composition, the footwear choice acted to compliment the moodier vibe of her look, creating a sense of cohesiveness. The pumps are available in an array of colors, including pink suede, red and silver.
Black, white, tan or colorful, there’s a good reason pumps are continuing to reign in the world of footwear. The silhouette boasts major longevity given its versatility, meaning the style pairs well with just about any ensemble. Olivia Culpo, Kamala Harris, Jennifer Aniston and a slew of other stars have recently worn pumps, keeping the trending shoe alive.

The former The Pussycat Dolls member went vampy in a floor-length gown in black. The piece was crafted of opaque satin and sheer tulle panels of fabric that were liberally decorated with black beading. The dress also featured a slightly slouchy cowl neckline.
When it comes to footwear, Scherzinger typically goes for bold styles. The “Buttons” songstress often wears platform sandals and pointed-toe pumps from top brands like Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo and Le Silla. When off-duty, she also prefers boots by Gucci and The Kooples, as well as Fila and Nike sneakers and Crocs clogs.
“Sunset Blvd.” is a Broadway musical featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber reimagined by visionary director Jamie Lloyd. Haunted by her memories and dreams, movie star Norma Desmond yearns to return to the big screen.
A struggling screenwriter who can’t sell his scripts to the Hollywood studios may be her only hope until their dangerous and captivating relationship leads to disaster. The production is based on the 1950 film of the same title.
“I feel like we’re doing something just really new, where there are no rules,” Scherzinger said while talking to Variety about the role. “My whole life, everybody has put me in a box. They think they know me, that I’m just this Pussycat Doll. But now I’m a part of something. I have this role and this character, and I’m like ‘f-ck it.’ This is me outside all of those motherf-cking boxes.”
