Balenciaga brand ambassador and “Babygirl” star Nicole Kidman was dressed to impress at the 82nd Golden Globes held in Los Angeles on Jan. 5. Decked out in the Italian luxury brand, Kidman was wearing the ultra-sharp Knife pumps to unify and add a sharp edge to her elegant silvery ensemble.
Kidman wore a custom-made version of Look 55 from Balenciaga’s 52nd couture collection. It’s described as a Twisted Backless Dress with Train in crystal rhinestone mesh. The actress wore a silver version of the glimmering one-shoulder dress which was draped elegantly across her frame and flowed into a slight train. A slicked back, voluminous hairstyle underscored her air of glamour.
The Balenciaga Knife pump is identifiable for its highly sculpted, angular look. The elongated pointed toe has a pin-sharp point, showing a more dramatic take on the classic triangular-toe pump. Kidman wore a cream satin version of the shoe which blended with her frosty dress. As an ambassador for the luxury brand, the star’s shoe choice comes as no surprise. She wore a red iteration of the style when attending the GQ Men of the Year Awards back in November. A black version of the Knife style retails for $975 from Balenciaga.
Meanwhile at the Golden Globes, Kerry Washington looked chic in a black patent version of the Knife silhouette, a shoe choice which complemented her bold pink dress.
For her performance in the A24 film “Babygirl,” Kidman was nominated in the category of best performance by a female actor in a motion picture – drama. Fernanda Torres ultimately took home the award for “I’m Still Here.” Other wins included Demi Moore winning in the musical or comedy version of that category for “The Substance,” which she noted in her speech is the first award she’s won in her 45 years of acting.
