Nicole Kidman hit the red carpet on the GQ Men Of The Year Awards in London wearing head to toe Balenciaga, including a vibrant pair of red pointed-toe pumps.
The actress and her stylist Jason Bolden seem to have opted for Balenciaga’s Knife 110mm pumps for the event, which retail for $975, and are made with a matte spandex material. The heels’ most prominent feature is an elongated pointed toe that looks as sharp as a blade. While the red version was not currently available on the designer’s website, they do offer black and hot pink versions, as well as velvet and leather.
Made with a standout matte material, the shoes offered a smooth style with its sleek, red construction. Characterized by a pointed-pump design, the silhouette was completed with a closed back that allowed for comfort and security.

While the back of Kidman’s shoes couldn’t be seen entirely due to the length of her dress, the design is finished with a razor sharp stiletto heel measuring between 3-to-4 inches in height, as that is what the “Big Little Lies” actress typically prefers when making her appearances.
As for her outfit, Kidman matched her pumps with a slim-fitting red dress that stole the show. The bright red Balenciaga gown blended in perfectly with the GQ Men of the Year carpet and the backdrop. The form-fitting dress featured long sleeves, a turtleneck and a corset-like ribbon draped through the back of the dress. Styling her long blonde locks in a free-flowing do, she kept her makeup simple enough for the dress to stand out.
Pointed-toe pumps are a retro style that has been around since the early 1900s. The current versions of pointed-toe pumps are a classic model that merges elements of that retro style with current 2020s inspiration. Known for their comfort, the silhouette is often praised for its versatility and ease of styling as it can be worn to a variety of events. Regarded as a preferred shoe for red carpets and formal occasions, the popularity of the slim stiletto heel started re-emerging again at the start of the 2020s. Many brands such as Stuart Weitzman, Chanel and Gucci offer a wide range of pointed-pumps throughout the season.
Kidman, herself, has always been regarded for her fashion choices. Last month, the “Baby Girl” actress was seen at the Season 2 premiere for “Lioness,” which saw her wearing a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes that aren’t currently sold anymore. Those pumps, which are the Christian Louboutin Condora strap shoes, included a pointed toe, molded like a bird’s beak and a low-cut vamp.
