A bevy of famous faces flocked to the iconic Plaza Hotel in New York City for Fashion Group International’s 40th annual Night of Stars Gala on Tuesday evening. The fashion awards ceremony celebrated creatives in the industry who have changed the game. Designer LaQuan Smith received the Fashion Vanguard Award while Max Mara’s Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti was honored with the Design Heritage Award. Nicky Hilton turned an elegant look in a sleeveless black velvet column gown featuring a high neck and a bold backless design. The glamorous dress — which she paired with a sophisticated updo, earrings and a red lip — eclipsed her footwear.
Hitting the stage to speak at the event, Kate Hudson showed off a slinky black off-the-shoulder gown with an asymmetrical hem that revealed black slingback sandals featuring curvy bedazzled straps. The actress and entrepreneur sported her signature beachy waves loose around her bare shoulders and reached for clear glasses when it was time to deliver her remarks.

Coco Rocha slipped into a custom Gap denim dress made from repurposed Icon denim jackets, designed by Gap Inc. executive vice president and creative director Zac Posen along with Gap’s design team. The denim gown featured an asymmetrical design with buttons down the front and a thigh-high slit. The model paired the look with glossy black patent leather stiletto pumps. The classic style boasted a rounded topline and a pointed toe.
Dixie D’Amelio also wore a black dress for the occasion, pairing a silky sleeveless number with pointy black patent leather pumps. The stilettos featured two slender straps at the ankle and a square topline with an elongated toe.
Proceeds from the FGI Night of Stars event benefit the non-profit organization’s aim to deliver essential career resources, educational initiatives, business grants, scholarships, and mentorship programs.
