Nicky Hilton was among the notable attendees in the front row at Burberry‘s Fall 2025 show at Tate London on Monday.
A flurry of celebrities, from Orlando Bloom to Kim Cattrall, stepped out to take in creative director Daniel Lee’s latest creations for the iconic British brand. Naturally, Hilton dressed in a timeless Burberry look for the occasion. The socialite sported a plaid wool mini dress featuring pockets and zipper details at the hem, with a khaki-colored, “nova” check-lined trench coat on top.
Hilton opted for Burberry’s equestrian-inspired “Saddle High” leather boots designed with a rounded toe, a buckled harness strap at the ankle, and clunky block heels. Underfoot, the soles are stamped with the brand’s signature equestrian Knight design in royal blue. Hitting just below the knee, the tall style retails for $1,990 on burberry.com.
Daniel Lee debuted the boots as a part of his spring 2024 collection. Prior to replacing Riccardo Tisci at the helm of Burberry in 2022, he served as creative director of Italian luxury brand Bottega Veneta from 2018 to 2021, where he designed some buzzy “It” shoes and bags.
Hilton accessorized with a simple black leather shoulder bag and a selection of glitzy Tiffany & Co. jewelry, including white gold diamond link earrings and a matching necklace. She also donned a smattering of diamond rings.
Nicky Hilton has been immersed in the fashion and footwear industry for years. Since 2019, the Hilton Hotels heiress has been collaborating with French Sole, releasing collections comprised of whimsical ballet flats and loafer styles. Nicky, as well as sister Paris, and mom Kathy Hilton were recipients of the Icon Award at the Footwear News Achievement Awards in 2021.
Burberry was founded by Thomas Burberry in 1856, originally debuting as “Burberry’s of London.” The British luxury fashion house is best known for its instantly identifiable “nova check” tartan pattern and classic trench coats. Burberry’s unmistakable tartan design was originally used to line the brand’s raincoats in the 1920s. It would become a telltale Burberry signature by the ’60s. Meanwhile, the heritage brand’s coats were crafted in an innovative fabric called gabardine.
Thomas Burberry is credited with inventing gabardine, a breathable, waterproof fabric able to withstand Britain’s unpredictable, often wet weather. Patented in 1988, the lightweight yet hardwearing fabric is said to have revolutionized rainwear, which had always been heavy and uncomfortable.
