NCT Jungwoo Becomes Tod’s First Male Brand Ambassador in South Korea

Luxury Italian footwear and apparel company Tod’s has tapped NCT’s Jungwoo as their latest brand ambassador in South Korea.

The news of their union was announced via Jungwoo and Tod’s official Instagram accounts on Sept. 4 accompanied by a campaign photo featuring the K-pop star. “Sharing the same passion for timeless style and the contemporary spirit of the brand, Jungwoo will accompany the brand in many of its activities in Korea,” Tod’s wrote on the page.

Following the news of his brand ambassadorship, the “Perfume” singer was featured in an editorial for W Korea’s September issue clad in a full brown leather Tod’s look. Accompanying a variety of fall-ready pieces, Jungwoo wore a myriad of loafers with high-shine buckle embellishments.

“I am honored to be Tod’s Brand Ambassador. I hope to experience the true Italian lifestyle through Tod’s various projects.”, Jungwoo remarked in a statement via the brand.

Comprised of over 20 members, NCT is divided into five different sub-units: NCT U, NCT 127, NCT Dream, WayV and NCT DoJaeJung. The group debuted in 2016 under SM Entertainment with double digital singles “The 7th Sense” and “Without You.”

Jungwoo is a member of NCT DoJaeJung, a subunit of NCT. The subunit consists of Jaehyun, Doyoung and Jungwoo. The trio debuted with their song “Perfume” in April of 2023 and was met with major success. Their EP of the same name includes six songs including “Kiss,” “Can We Go Back” and “Dive” among others.

The “Strawberry Sunday” singer is just one of many K-pop acts to be given ambassadorship status by luxury brands. Top stars from the industry including, Exo, NewJeans, Big Bang, IU, Hyuna, Astro, Aespa, BTS and Blackpink have partnered with big names in fashion, from Dior to Louis Vuitton, bridging the gap between high fashion and the South Korean pop industry.
