Monica Barbaro Walks On Air in Clear Gianvito Rossi Plexi Pumps at 97th Annual Academy Awards Nominees Dinner

Monica Barbaro walked on air in see-through footwear at the 97th Annual Academy Awards Nominees dinner at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles yesterday. The actress is nominated for “Actress In A Supporting Role” for her work in “A Complete Unknown.”
The aforementioned footwear hailed from Gianvito Rossi. Retailing for $815 via the brand’s website, the Plexi pump features a mix of white patent leather and synthetic see-through materials accompanied by sharp triangular pointed toes. Leather soles gave way to stiletto heels standing at 4.1 inches in height, lifting Barbaro to new heights.
The PVC paneling created a futuristic finish, contrasting the more classic patent leather construction. If all-white pumps aren’t your thing, the Plexi silhouette comes in a variety of unique colorways including “Red” and “Black.” Similar styles fixed with transparent elements can be shopped via brands like Christian Louboutin, Amina Muaddi, Schutz, Alaia, Off-White, Paris Texas and Jimmy Choo, among others.

Partnered with her sheer footwear, the “Fubar” actress sported a mint green and brown Victoria Beckham jersey dress. Retailing for $1850, the garment featured long sleeves, ruched detailing and a daring plunging neckline. Barbaro also wore high-shine Bvlgari jewelry centered around snake-inspired motifs.
Barbaro is currently promoting her new film “A Complete Unknown,” an upcoming 2024 drama/music film directed by James Mangold. The film follows musician Bob Dylan’s rise to fame in 1960s New York. The movie enlists the help of stars like Timothee Chalamet, Elle Fanning, Edward Norton and Boyd Holbrook, among others. The film is nominated for a slew of Oscars including “Costume Design,” “Actor In A Leading Role” and “Best Picture.”
During her press tour, the actress has reached for a slew of unique shoe silhouettes in colorful styles from brands like Christian Louboutin, Schiaparelli, Dior, Prada and Gianvito Rossi, among others.
