Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjær Theilvig, Wins Miss Universe 2024 in $80 Chinese Laundry Platforms

Miss Denmark, Victoria Kjær Theilvig, took home the crown at the 2024 Miss Universe pageant held on Nov. 16 in Mexico City. The Denmark native took Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua‘s place in a pair of cost-effective $80 platform shoes.
Hailing from the brand Chinese Laundry, the Danish model’s footwear can be shopped via Amazon. The sandal silhouette was crafted of a tan almost taupe glossy patent leather and included a strappy construction with thin dainty straps that intersected, caging Theilvig’s feet in. The insoles featured Chinese Laundry branding.
Silver adjustable buckle closures gave way to lofty platform soles and 5.75-inch stiletto heels, lifting the pageant winner to new heights. Many of the 2024 Miss Universe contestants wore platform styles from Vizzano for a slew of categories.

The silhouette is often utilized to make the contestants look taller, bringing the illusion of both length and height while on stage. Chinese Laundry was founded back in 1982 with a debut collection of fashion-forward shoes targeted at a young audience of women.
The beauty pageant titleholder was crowned Miss Universe 2024 in a pink bedazzled gown in a strapless style with a sculptural bodice and intricate beading. Theilvig also wore sheer pastel pink gloves decorated with rhinestones.
Miss Universe is a pageant held annually by the Miss Universe Organization, which celebrates women’s accomplishments across the world. This year’s event was held in Mexico City, Mexico. Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua crowned her successor at the end of the event.
This year hosted 125 contestants from from all over the world. The dazzling spectacle saw some historic moments, including the participation of the first Miss Universe UAE, Emilia Dobreva and Miss Bahrain. This year’s edition marked the debut of Belarus, Eritrea, Guinea, Iran, Macau, Maldives, Moldova, North Macedonia, Somalia, the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan. The Miss Universe pageant draws large audiences each year both in person and via streaming platforms.
